because it’s not truly summer until you have an honest-to-goodness silly/carefree day at the beach. Ten points to Gryffindor if you also happen to be in Ensenada, Mexico.
About a month ago, I randomly booked a cruise with some friends of mine because we found a wicked good deal. It was the best choice I’ve made in a long time. We went to Catelina and Ensenada, Mexico. And sometimes you just need to have no service, a good book, good friends, the ocean, and a healthy dose of yolo. I mostly took pictures on my film camera and phone. But Brooke and I switched off using my DSLR, so i’ve got a little dose for ya of the heaven that has been my past week. We started in Catelina and rented bikes for the day. We biked all the way up a hillside to the botanical gardens and it was a hot sweaty mess, but totally worth it. We also swam a little bit, and boy do I love that ocean. ^^^and of course, the obligatory cabin selfie.
This day was a pretty special one. Easter. The day we celebrate the single greatest event in human history, the resurrection of Christ. I’m beyond thankful for His presence and guidance in my life. This morning some of the pals got up at before the sun so we could watch it rise on this sacred day. A symbol of rebirth, regeneration, and the chance we have every day to repent and become whole. It was the beginning to the most perfect day. We laughed the entire morning as we ate muffins and drank apple juice, and I am so thankful for these humans. what a happy, perfect day.
….which is wonderful seeing as I’ll be interning there this summer at Martha Stewart Living! I’m starting to feel like a real big grown-up human! I’m headed back to the east coast in June for my life’s next big adventure. growing is so neat. yay design!
let me begin by saying that when I travel, places have a habit of feeling like home immediately. Like I get a sense that I could live anywhere. But let me tell you, I could ESPECIALLY live in NYC. It’s so energizing here! It might just be cause I’ve been in the Mormon bubble too long, but I also find the diversity of people and stories SO SO SO fascinating. I love it. we got in around 3 yesterday and decided to grab food as soon as humanly possible, but I lead us there in a super round about way by accident. eep. I swear I might have left my brain in Provo. I hope it comes back to me today, I kind of need it now. We decided after our food that we would like to get the touristy things out of the way so we headed to Times […]
So today was one beautifully lived. There is something so wonderfully exciting about feeling like you’ve discovered something no one else has. Thats how it felt for a lot of our adventure today. We knew that in reality that people had obviously been here before, but I liked to believe that this was an intimate conversation with us and the earth, a silent adoration of it’s splendor. It was a small adventure which we shall hold uniquely. It was exquisite.
^^^ this group of humans is a top knotch collection of talent and general awesomeness So my major is kind of the best one to exist. I know you think i’m probably crazy to love school but I genuinely feel like I am learning to see differently every day. I love that my program pushes me to make things that are quality, and knowledgable. It pushes us to be better, to absorb truth, to expand your scope, to actually care. Yesterday we had a field trip to Salt Lake, which was quite fun! We started at Light Spot which is a modern interior design store and we talked a lot about quality, and moving forward in design. The conversation we had with the owner was inspiring because of his incredible passion for what he does, and the aesthetic choices he makes in every day for himself and for clients. Made […]
-Kassie’s radio show made me feel like a real cool cat. mostly cause kassie is a kool kat, so i pretend to be one by association-Even the walk to the city was saturated with beautiful greenery EVERYWHERE. i seriously adored it.-I can’t stop thinking about two things, Salt and Straw ice cream, and Por Que No. I could eat both for every meal until i die a happy gluttonous death.-and finally these girls. they are some of my very flavorites. Tonya is seriously the most rad of the rad, please check out her blog if you haven’t already.
so i moved into my new place, buuuut we don’t have internet yet. and someone thought it would be a good idea to have us move in the day before labor day weekend… so we’ve been internetless and hot water less for three days now. Its quite the fight for survival… Anyways I’m sitting at starbucks trying to edit the rest of my portland pictures before school sneaks up on me and pushes them to the back of my mind–cause i know it will. First, here are a few more pictures from the coast:
Hey friends, I made a quick Video of my Monday in Portland, My best friend is a DJ so she let me play some tunes, and i felt like a regular bad-A. Then we stuffed our faces with some of the best fries i’ve ever eaten and hands down the best ice cream i’ve ever eaten. i mean guys, the flavor was honey lavender. I MEAN COME ON. I could live in portland, but I’d probably become obese. though i’d probably be fine with it. Today i move into my cute little house.
