Oregon Coast

Dear future husband, i only request that you propose to me on the oregon coast, more specifically hug point. I wish i could explain how beautiful the coast was on sunday. I can only describe it as magical.  I’ve added a extended camping trip on the oregon coast to my bucketlist, because i simply must go back. It’s one of those places that just makes you feel like everything is okay. And for those few hours, no matter how much crap you seem to be going through, everything is. I like my beaches cloudy, soaked with soft light and soft colors, so i suppose you could say i was in heaven. Also, if you’re ever at cannon beach, stop by Sleepy Monk to get something warm to drink but also to get yourself a rosemary bagel with sun-dried tomato cream cheese because it will most certainly change your life. i’m still dreaming of it, […]

In which I visually convince you that I’m really outdoorsy

Alternative Title: My Weekend. ^^^Cami and I were fighting for attention, i guess i get aggressive… The ropes course by Utah Lake was pretty fun, jumping from trees and going on swings, i love anything that can give me a little adrenaline rush 🙂 Saturday I floated the river with a really randomly pieced together group of friends–and it was awesome. We brought a disposable/waterproof camera which was decidedly a good choice. I’m trying to squeeze all the fun out of the last few weeks of summer, and I daresay it’s my best decision yet.

the northwest thing, idaho style.

five notable things involved in this post: (1) That blazer. i’m a little mad i didn’t get it, i mean i could bring back shoulder pads right? yeah, i totally could. 80s ain’t got nothing on this.(2) THE CAT. the cat painting. i included two pictures so you could see the scale of it. both brooke and i were hoping we had $100 extra bucks laying around cause it would be a great addition to our house next year.(3) Rogers shakes. Huckleberry Lemonade. Nuff said.(4) Coeur d’ Alene Lake is always a good time. nothing like a good clean lake on a super hot day. also we saw a guy who literally had an 8 pack, and i’m still trying to figure out how that even works, did he have two extra abs transplanted onto his stomach? was it really a fortunate mutaion? i’m just gonna keep being proud of that […]

This Girl is on Fire

Fire. guys. fire! it’s seriously heaven in the form of pizza. This artisan pizza place knows how to make your taste buds sing and dance and fall in love. Brooke and i shared the Gordy, it’s seriously incredible. We were the obnoxious people taking pictures of a food and everything we did yesterday, but boy am i glad we did, because look at it, LOOK AT IT. SO DELICIOUS I CAN’T EVEN HANDLE IT. Adventuring in Coeur d’ Alene with two of my favorite people was so grand. i loved every second of it. I’m glad we took so many pictures, because then i get to keep showing them to you forever and ever. awesome. cool. thanks. i’m gonna sleep now. k bye.

Home sweet home

if you’ve met me in person, and you’ve heard me talk about “back home” i’ve probably told you about “my mountain” and that i live in the boonies and that it’s the most beautiful place ever and talked your ear off on how awesome the Northwest is. Well today i had a chance to prove it to my dear friend Brooke. Patrick and I set out to give her a good ole taste of the Northwest. These photos were taken on said mountain. Today was such a great day, i haven’t had so much fun in a real long time. I’m gonna split up the pictures in a few posts. mostly to make sure i’m posting consistently, also cause i edited them in different ways and sometimes i can be a little anal about that kind of stuff. anyway, i feel as though i need to check in with all […]

Being home is nice though. i enjoy the familiarity of my bed, my street, and my family. I would venture to say that this has been the perfect summer.

happy birthday to jessy!

It’s about that time. Today we are flying back to America. Today is also Jessy’s birthday. We decided to celebrate it not on a plane, and i took her to get Angelina’s melted chococlate hot chocolate. It was the richest chocolate in the world. we got chocolate brain and i think we were mildly high off this delicious treat. “i’m excited!” and  “This is how i really feel!”  Jessy is just the best ever. We’ve had so much fun becoming close friends on this study abroad, she’s smart, photogenic, creative and fashionable and i’m so stoked that we will probably be taking the same classes til the rest of eternity. or graduation…whichever comes first.

get versaillesited

Today we went to the Palace of Versailles. We had a lot of fun in the huge line that formed to go through security. Acting like i’m 14 again sometimes brings me great pleasure, so we goofed off a lot and tried to pickpocket people in our group. The palace  was ridiculous in so many aspects: beautiful, crowded, opulent, overdone, huge. The amount of asian tourists there may have put me over the top. I get it, it’s versailles. there are bound to be tourists, but did they not learn how to be patient? and did they take a picture of every room in the palace? Do you really need to squat that low of the photo? did they ever look at the palace through their naked eye as opposed to the LCD screen? I JUST DON’T KNOW. I can’t handle it. if one more asian lady pushes me through […]

what a day

magical. leisurely breakfast, and a day on the streets of Paris doing whatever we fancy. It included people watching at Luxemburg gardens, climbing to the top of Arc de Triomphe, avoiding pick pockets, eating some macaroons, sitting in front of the Eiffel Tower, and having dinner at a cafe near our hotel (aka some of the best salmon i’ve ever had)
