A few weeks ago, Laura contacted me asking if she could make a video of me. I was so flattered, and of course I said yes! I finally got to see it the other day and I thought I might share it with you. Laura is so incredibly talented, and I’m feeling pretty blessed that she found me interesting enough to work with. Enjoy!
This is my cousin Katie. yeah. I know. she’s a freaking babe, I can’t even handle it. I couldn’t help but share with you all how much fun we had on her engagement shoot. This couple is seriously so great, and I’m excited to shoot their wedding in Texas this summer! kthxbai
Back when Palolo asked me to shoot her wedding, it’s an understatement to say I was ecstatic. We’re both in the graphic design program I have always just adored her taste. I was SO beyond excited to be able to document what I was sure would be the worlds most beautiful wedding. It was. It was simple and perfect, and I’m so glad I was able to be a part of it. I love couples like Palolo and Samuel where they are just so comfortable with each other, and so contently in love. (I could also say that being comfortable runs in the family, Samuels family and I got pretty comfortable with eachother on the ride from st. george to vegas…huh, amanda? 😉 ) Anyway, I’m so excited to share these images with you and I sure hope you like them, because this was one of my most favorite weddings […]
This weekend I got to meet some really sweet girls, and make some images for the heck of it. I’m really interested in more of a darker mood for my personal photography, one that plays on light in interesting ways. The final image is a really good representation of the kinds of emotions I’d like to explore in photography. Thats probably one of my favorite photographs I’ve taken. Anyway, enjoy! ^^^my homegirl India took and edited this picture, i included it in this post cause I like to look like edgy sometimes… ugh. I die of this image! i wanna make more!
Sometimes God blesses you with a day of really beautiful light, soaked in fog and frosted pine needles. Then you’re also blessed with the company of a truly lovely human who appreciates film as much as you do. So you shoot a whole roll of Portra, a few quick snaps on your digital, and you let that day live infinitely. because it was just one of those perfect kind of days.
Lookie! my other friend named Tanner and I enjoy making images, we especially love making images with film when we get the chance. I’m super stoked on these, I’ve been trying to be more deliberate with my use of light in my photography and I’m loving what direction it’s been taking me. I feel like I have so much to learn and I want very badly to be able to shoot all film all the time (so feel free to send me 120 mm film for christmas santa 😉 ) But at least for now It makes me choose each frame very deliberately. It’s really cool to think about how much better things can be when we don’t have instant gratification. I’ve been struggling with that in design lately too, I go to the computer too quickly to solve visual problems. What i should really be doing is looking for […]
you know those days where every possible thing that could go wrong does? you know how after a certain point it all just seems comical? how your human nature to be imperfect decides to take over so much that you just can’t help but laugh at the sitcom nature of your situations? well that’s been my life the past week. thankful for friends like this human above to keep me sane or laugh maniacally along with me.
When Kirsten asked if I was willing to shoot some film in addition to digital for our session i was ecstatic. my yashica broke last winter when i took it on a photosafari that was far too cold for its internal workings, so i borrowed my dear Erica’s Mamiya c330. it was a poor choice, because now i’m OBSESSED. So obsessed that there is a good chance I’ll be buying that Mamiya from another friend of mine. I forget how much I love film. It’s such a tactile thing. It forces you to be decisive with your compositions, to take time to focus, and to embrace imperfections. It’s authentic. It’s the most genuine type of photography. I’d like to shoot more film, especially for my personal work. When I meet my nephew (who should be born this next week! EEE!) I’d love to shoot some film of him. The end.
Sorry that my only post this week have been photography posts, but really i’m not that sorry….because my clients are the coolest. Shelby and Jared are just such an incredibly couple. I didn’t have to direct them hardly at all, they just love to laugh and it’s infectious. I am beyond grateful to work with people like this. It is so fun to try and capture couples in their element and try and relate it to you. I hope I can portray that decent enough, cause I do really love doing it. Also can I ask y’all a favor? click the photography tab on the right hand side, and maybe like my facebook photography page? that’d be swell. thanks you!
This is my good friend Megan and her fiance Luke. Megan is my favorite cat lady, she used to come stay with me in when she was in Provo all the time, then she went fell in love with this super attractive English bloke. So now she’s not only gorgeous, but she’s in love. Man they’ve got the good life eh? Her and Luke are such a fun couple, and it has been such a pleasure to work with them. They are getting married in London in May, and i so wish i could hitch hike over there to be there. (and that London light?! oh how i miss it). Oh and can we just acknowledge how attractive their babies will be? i mean COME ON! Anyways, enjoy my dear friends. I simply cannot. I love them so.
