Hey guys. Meet Mike. He’s a new friend of mine. He wanted to learn more about photography. I know a thing or two about photography. We decided to do something about it and explore his area of town (west village) and we ended up just right on the river at dusk. it was every sort of pretty. and though we didn’t have much light to work with, we had a pretty good time playing around.
the photographer in me can’t help by get a little giddy by a cloudy day and the explorer in me couldn’t help but be grinning in the spontaneity of this adventure. I love to explore the beauty in our own individual settings. Oh and i love to explore on a beautifully cloudy day. On such a day last weekend, Tanner and I set out to relish in the light and find some interesting surroundings. I’m taking engagements for a dear friend of mine next weekend, and I was in dire need of exploring to get some ideas of locations. it turned into a grand adventure, and I’m pretty content with it.
if you’ve met me in person, and you’ve heard me talk about “back home” i’ve probably told you about “my mountain” and that i live in the boonies and that it’s the most beautiful place ever and talked your ear off on how awesome the Northwest is. Well today i had a chance to prove it to my dear friend Brooke. Patrick and I set out to give her a good ole taste of the Northwest. These photos were taken on said mountain. Today was such a great day, i haven’t had so much fun in a real long time. I’m gonna split up the pictures in a few posts. mostly to make sure i’m posting consistently, also cause i edited them in different ways and sometimes i can be a little anal about that kind of stuff. anyway, i feel as though i need to check in with all […]
So i had never been to the dunes, and the yeti’s were in need of some serious photos for their band stuffz so we had a quick little photoshoot. My brother and sister-in-law took us there and we had a swell time goofing off. Road trips with your best friends are what dreams are made of.
shirt:f21 // shorts & shoes: thrifted Three paragraphs that have little to do with eachother: i’m going home next week and i’m way excited because that means visits to my favorite thrift stores! i’m starting to see the reality of a student budget…combined with the incessant urge to finally invest in a full frame camera…my shopping budget is next to nothing right now. But you know what? having limits foster creativity more than anything, so i say bring it on! it’s a weird transition right now. I just got through the most stressful/anxiety-inducing/sleep-deprived design-monkey week of my life and now i have free time. like real free time… like so much that i can’t even figure out what to do with myself. i’ve been reading. READING GUYS! . i forget how much i love reading. oh before i forget, anybody got some reading suggestions? springtime seems to have entered quietly and full of […]
yesterday my best friend and i went exploring a place both of us know pretty well, it’s the county park which is like 2 minutes from our houses (which is a big deal, because NOTHING is usually two minutes from our houses in the boonies). i was a little wary about going here because once you’ve seen something so many times, it sometimes begins to feel cliche, a little too familiar. But this was not one of those days. I was pleasantly surprised with the beauty of the colors, and the cat tails with snow?! might be a new obsession. We had a jolly good time, and i shot a third of a roll on Portra, so i’m excited to see how it turns out. portra makes me smile more than any boy has in the last year. dramatic? meh. its that good. Anways. these are taken on my phone….. OH YEAH I GOT […]
jacket–thrifted // shirt– UNIQLO // pants– f21 // boots– some where on oxford street in london// camera– Mamiya (borrowed) Dear Fall,Every year you come into my life a little more glorious than the last. You weren’t my favorite when your presence meant raking pine cones, but ever since i moved to Utah i get you. I want you to be with me forever. You’re beautiful, show stopping, a color euphoria. It’s sad to know our days together are limited. When you inevitiable walk out of my life for someone else across the world again, please know that i will never feel the same about Winter as i do about you. Love always,Emma **also, i hope you like the facelift i gave the blog 🙂
i have a minor obsession with double exposures.…and with film.
this weekend i went with some some cool cats up to the great salt lake. we ended up off-roading a bit (which my car, and now flat tire did not like) and found a wonderful place which i can hardly describe. When we first got there i walked out to the vast unknown and felt incredible. It was so much negative space and yet i felt encompassed with love and hope. then after that moment of awe, i had a few hours of fun with some fellow photo enthusiasts. i only got a few digital images, you can check out those by clicking on the photography tab to your left 🙂 my battery was left at home, so i took these on frida’s camera. It was kinda nice because it forced me to take lots of pictures with my film cameras which don’t always get as much loving as i […]
Saturday i had an itch, a photo itch. I wanted to finish a roll on my Yashica (but i’m indecisive and only got 4 frames) and i had to do some stuff for my photo class. In those aspects i was kinda unproductive. But on my digital, i got some pretty nifty pictures. below you will see evidence that i live with one of the most beautiful woman ever created. This is Jenna. Everyone say hello to Jenna. Hi jennaaaaa. great thanks for that. anywho, we had a real good time and between me and Christina using her for a model this weekend, she’s a born natural. it probably helps that her face is so pretty… Jenna was one of my very first roommates in college. She is super fit, and super fantastic. she let me dress her up like a hippie and we had a real good time.
