During the christmas season there was a lot of relaxation. a lot. Too much. It got to a point where I was finally in need of a break from my spot on the couch. I think I’ve left a permanent butt imprint. I needed to be creative. I realized a few months ago how much I had been taking my home town for granted, and I wanted to document some of my post familiar places with some creative people. Cue Mckenzie, Cory, and Justin. Mckenzie and I have been friends since our wee little days in club gymnastics, and competed in high school together. She’s adorable, as you can tell. Cory and I met through mutual friends slash instagram. If you’re not already following him there, you’ve probably been living under a rock. It’s okay, we forgive ya. ALSO i’m stupidedly realizing that I didn’t even get a picture of […]
Sometimes you’re given a friend whose influence is far beyond your capacity to understand at the time. granted, sometimes you’re given that friend as a kindergartener. And you never quite understand how someone can be so incredibly christlike. Or how she finds a way to gently pushe you to be a better person. You never quite unravel her the secret to her unwaveringly consideration for others, so you make sure to at least stop and admire it once in a while. You sometimes get that friend when your 5 and she kinda just sticks with ya til 21 and beyond. Thats this gem up here. Here’s to many more years of texting cat memes and buzzfeed articles to eachother Ande, cheers!
It’s been a super wonderful week spending time with family. I really do feel so blessed to have such an incredibly support system. my brothers all married so well, because these are the best kind of sisters. we went for a girls day out, ate at nordstom cafe and did some shopping, it was pretty swell. i love these women, so much.
^^^these too lovebirds got engaged last night!! This year at Classy Christmas we decided to do a photobooth instead of going around to take candids, I think it was a ruhl good choice. here are just a sliver of them:) I’m so thankful for my friends and family that make this year so fun. A big ole special thanks to my perfect saint of a mother who pretty much did all the planning for the party. I was shooting a wedding in Vegas this last weekend so I didn’t even make it home until the night before the party, so thank heavens my mother is so good at parties, because It would not have been so successful/fun without her. so again, THANKS MOM. if you wanna see past classy christmas party pictures you can check them out here & here.
As of Monday, I am officially Auntie Em. My dear sister in law gave brith to a healthy baby boy on 11/11 and he was such a fatttttty. He’s seriously the most precious thing i’ve ever laid my eyes on. My momma flew me home this weekend to meet the newest addition to our family as i won’t be there for thanksgiving. I was only home for two days but I wish I never had to go back to school. I am so grateful that my family consists of my best friends. I didn’t really contact any friends (except Ande who gave me a ride from the airport and is just the cutest) because i honestly was so content to just hang out with my family. I’m becoming more and more of a homebody with each day, and i’m not mad about it.
alright i think this is my last post from my trip, downtown spokane–tourist style. its really quite fun to be a tourist in your own city, i can’t say it enough. I think i’m gonna try and do that more here in Provo. because what is life for if not for adventure? This day was so fun, it involved some of my very favorite people in my very favorite state, having some of my very favorite laughs. We knew it would just not be right if we took brooke to Spokane and never took her to see the giant wagon, or the trash eating goat, or boo radleys. so we did, we laughed, we had a grand ole time. I’m thankful for those happy moments surrounded by people you love, the ones that remind me that i often walk among angels and don’t even realize it.
five notable things involved in this post: (1) That blazer. i’m a little mad i didn’t get it, i mean i could bring back shoulder pads right? yeah, i totally could. 80s ain’t got nothing on this.(2) THE CAT. the cat painting. i included two pictures so you could see the scale of it. both brooke and i were hoping we had $100 extra bucks laying around cause it would be a great addition to our house next year.(3) Rogers shakes. Huckleberry Lemonade. Nuff said.(4) Coeur d’ Alene Lake is always a good time. nothing like a good clean lake on a super hot day. also we saw a guy who literally had an 8 pack, and i’m still trying to figure out how that even works, did he have two extra abs transplanted onto his stomach? was it really a fortunate mutaion? i’m just gonna keep being proud of that […]
Fire. guys. fire! it’s seriously heaven in the form of pizza. This artisan pizza place knows how to make your taste buds sing and dance and fall in love. Brooke and i shared the Gordy, it’s seriously incredible. We were the obnoxious people taking pictures of a food and everything we did yesterday, but boy am i glad we did, because look at it, LOOK AT IT. SO DELICIOUS I CAN’T EVEN HANDLE IT. Adventuring in Coeur d’ Alene with two of my favorite people was so grand. i loved every second of it. I’m glad we took so many pictures, because then i get to keep showing them to you forever and ever. awesome. cool. thanks. i’m gonna sleep now. k bye.
if you’ve met me in person, and you’ve heard me talk about “back home” i’ve probably told you about “my mountain” and that i live in the boonies and that it’s the most beautiful place ever and talked your ear off on how awesome the Northwest is. Well today i had a chance to prove it to my dear friend Brooke. Patrick and I set out to give her a good ole taste of the Northwest. These photos were taken on said mountain. Today was such a great day, i haven’t had so much fun in a real long time. I’m gonna split up the pictures in a few posts. mostly to make sure i’m posting consistently, also cause i edited them in different ways and sometimes i can be a little anal about that kind of stuff. anyway, i feel as though i need to check in with all […]
and i’m just over here pretending i know how to be a fashion blogger…. shirt: Ann Taylor (thefted from mum) // skirt: thrifted // shoes: thefted from sister // watch: vintage Elgin so i suppose this is where i rant about how everyone i know is either married and/or in love, but that sounds like a topic with some potential whining so we’ll skip it all together and talk about how much i want a puppy. psych. i’ll just tell you how excited i was to find this skirt! it was only $5 so i just haaaad to get it! (cause the 765432098 skirts already in my wardrobe just weren’t enough) drat, i had so many things that came across my head today that i was like “oh hey that would make a good blog post” and then i got a headache and there just wasn’t any more room in my noggin […]
