because it’s not truly summer until you have an honest-to-goodness silly/carefree day at the beach. Ten points to Gryffindor if you also happen to be in Ensenada, Mexico.
About a month ago, I randomly booked a cruise with some friends of mine because we found a wicked good deal. It was the best choice I’ve made in a long time. We went to Catelina and Ensenada, Mexico. And sometimes you just need to have no service, a good book, good friends, the ocean, and a healthy dose of yolo. I mostly took pictures on my film camera and phone. But Brooke and I switched off using my DSLR, so i’ve got a little dose for ya of the heaven that has been my past week. We started in Catelina and rented bikes for the day. We biked all the way up a hillside to the botanical gardens and it was a hot sweaty mess, but totally worth it. We also swam a little bit, and boy do I love that ocean. ^^^and of course, the obligatory cabin selfie.
shirt: gap // pants: h&m // boots: target This is my dear friend Kaitlin. 3 years ago, as little baby freshman we were placed in the same apartment, and boy are we glad. Friday Kaitlin wanted me to dress her up like a hipster, I happily obliged, and it was a little comical how fast i had her hipsterized. We took pictures, and went to sonic because…duh. We then went and visited some guys from our freshman year who were having an impromtu dance party, it was a solid night. We reminisced about our days here at BYU, we talked about how much had changed since our days living in Bowen. We also fell in love with this song which was all to relevant to our hearts right now. Please take a listen, and if you have time check out the lyrics. they are so hauntingly beautiful.
guys, i am so proud of myself! this as my second time wakeboarding and the last time i probably tried 8 times before actually standing up and i don’t even know if you can count it as actually boarding because it lasted probably .4234 seconds. BUT TODAY. TODAY WAS DIFFERENT. today i stood up on the first try and every try after that, it was so fun to actually feel like i was learning! i want to go every day… but alas summer is drawing to a close and my wakeboarding days are limited. i’m going to just relish in today. because it was good. dragging out summer as long as i possibly can? why yes, thats exactly what i’m doing.
Today felt fabulously like summer. Even a tuesday afternoon felt like summer. After work my roommates and some guys from our ward decided to hit up 7 peaks and schloob it up and try and get a bit of a tan. which is great, cause i bought three swimsuits this summer… better get some use out of them eh?
